At only the size of a lunchbox, these devices transmit signals and communicate with a multitude of devices, such as cell phones and other antennas. To expand this coverage, we are offering services that install and upkeep such transponders. Your contributions to this network are a reliable source of extra coverage and can produce up to $1,000 a month of passive income to the host.
Examples of a host location can be a residence, business, cabin, AirBnB, treehouse, billboard, apartment building, office building, skyscraper, grain silo, fencepost, water tank, henhouse, farmhouse, outhouse, etc.
Results vary, but good locations typically earn $50-$1,000 per month for the host.
West Coast Hotspots pays its hosts on a monthly basis.
A host provides a location for the hotspot. This location should be near a mounting point for a small outdoor antenna, such as on a patio cover or roof eave. The hotspot also needs a power outlet to plug in to.
The hotspot equipment is about the size of a lunchbox and the outdoor antenna can range in size from a few inches to a few feet long. Between the hotspot hardware and the antenna, it's similar to having DirecTV installed.
IoT is the "internet of things." It includes small devices and sensors, such as temperature sensors, motion sensors, air quality monitors, GPS locators, etc. These small devices can be on stationary or in moving objects, like vehicles, cargo containers, weather stations, vending machines (to track temperature and inventory), rental equipment, rental bikes and scooters - there's even a growing dog collar tracker app to help locate lost dogs.
These IoT devices are low power and they need to send small amounts of data to their owners. These devices need a close-by antenna that can receive that data. Our hotspots listen for this data and send it to the owner, such as cargo shipping companies, the scooter/bike rental company, etc.
Most West Coast Hotspots installations are in southern California. For other locations, please inquire below.
